Men's Winter Boots & Shoes

Men's winter boots and shoes from Babylon are made by hand at our family-owned factory, where we have been making footwear since 1997. This section brings together insulated leather boots, sheepskin boots and winter sneakers with fur, sheepskin or synthetic insulation inside. The right pair depends less on the thermometer than on how you spend a winter day.

Leather boots, sheepskin boots or winter sneakers: which do you need?

• Commuting, office, wet city streets. Leather boots. Smooth leather wipes clean after slush and salt, and the shape works with trousers and a coat.
• Long walks in real frost. Sheepskin boots. Natural sheepskin against the foot is the warmest option in this section.
• Casual days, if you wear sneakers all year. High-top sneakers with a fur or insulated lining, or sneakers in double-face sheepskin.
• Cool, dry autumn and spring days. Wool felt sneakers or leather boots with the standard leather lining.

What keeps the feet warm: Respira, Winterfrost 500, fur or sheepskin?

Many of our men's winter shoes let you choose the lining on the product page. Here is what each option does.

• Respira. Italian leather lining used in most of our models. It breathes well and suits people who spend much of the day indoors or on public transport.
• Winterfrost 500. A synthetic insulation layer placed between the upper and the lining. It adds warmth without bulk; Armor boots with it are rated from +5 to −15 °C. It is insulation, not a membrane.
• Natural fur. Offered at the same price as Respira on several high-tops, such as Space-X, Eclipse and Breakout.
• Sheepskin. Double-face sheepskin with the wool left on the skin, used in Frost, Short and UGM boots and in Space-D sneakers. The product pages rate it from +5 to −20 °C.

The faux-fur-lined 1654 nubuck sneakers are another option for those who prefer no natural fur inside.

Soles and grip for snow, slush and salt

Armor boots have a chunky sole with a deep tread, and the base of the sole is protected by liquid rubber, a technique we use in our workshop. Armor-Low brings the same idea to a lower boot with a coated nubuck lower part. Eclipse and Breakout high-tops have a rubber coating on the toe against scuffs. Sheepskin boots use light TPE or microporous rubber soles.

How do men's winter shoes fit?

Men's models come in EU 39–45; a few sheepskin and sneaker models start at EU 40. Measure your foot length in centimetres and use our size guide for EU, UK and US sizes. Each model is built on its own anatomical last. Alen-X sneakers are on a last shaped for wide feet, and LEGION and Space-X are described as suitable for wide feet. Sheepskin and fur-lined pairs should feel snug at first, because the fur settles with wear.
