How to measure your foot at home

You’ll need 5 minutes, a sheet of A4 paper, a pencil and a ruler or tape measure.

1. Measure in the evening. Feet get slightly larger during the day.
2. Put the paper against a wall. On a hard floor, short edge flush against the wall.
3. Stand on the paper. Barefoot or in a thin sock, heel firmly against the wall, weight on both feet.
4. Mark your longest toe. Hold the pencil upright at 90°: tilting it under your toes makes the result too short. It’s easier if someone else makes the mark.
5. Measure and repeat. The distance from the edge of the paper to the mark is your foot length. Round to the nearest 0.5 cm, measure the other foot and go by the larger number.

Shoe size chart

A size chart matches each size number to a foot length. Babylon shoes are made in European (EU) sizes: women’s models in 36–41, men’s in 39–45. The same number can differ by 0.5–0.8 cm between models, because every model is made on its own last.

Below are the foot-length ranges across all the charts on this page. If your measurement falls inside the range, the size will most likely fit; if it sits on the edge, check it against the chart of the exact model on its product page.

Shoe size chart in cm

The exact chart is on each product page, because our lasts differ. The charts below are a reference: real size grids used for some of our models. Before ordering, compare your foot length with the chart of the exact pair you’re choosing.

What the centimetres mean. For each EU size, Babylon charts give the recommended foot length: the fitting allowance is already built into the last, so do not add anything to your measurement. Choose the smallest size whose chart value is not less than your foot length.

Women's models mostly come in sizes 36–41, men's in 39–45. The exact size range of each model is listed on its product page.

EU, UK and US shoe sizes

Babylon shoes are made in EU sizes. If you usually buy in UK or US sizes, use the charts below as a starting point and then check your foot length against the chart of the exact model you are ordering — the foot length is what decides the fit.

Between two sizes or outside our range? Women's models come in EU 36–41 and men's in EU 39–45. Different brands convert sizes slightly differently, so if your UK or US size falls between two columns, go by foot length in centimetres. The “Find my size” button on every product page does the comparison for that model.

Under the size selector on each product page there is a “Find my size” button. Enter the size you wear in Nike, adidas, Converse or another brand, or your foot length in centimetres — the tool compares it with that model’s chart, takes the last and any fur lining into account, and suggests your size.

How Babylon shoes fit

• Our own last for every model. Babylon has been making shoes by hand at its family-owned factory in Kharkiv since 1997. Each model has its own last, so the shoes sit well on the foot — and each model has its own size chart.
• Room to move is already included. Don’t add anything to your measured foot length: the allowance is built into the last and the size chart.
• Wide feet. Space and Alen sneakers are made on an anatomical last with a wide toe box, have a relaxed fit and suit even wide feet — it says so on their product pages. If your feet are wide or have a high instep, send our manager your foot width and we’ll suggest a model.
• Sheepskin boots and winter shoes. Measure in the evening, wearing the socks you’ll wear with them. Don’t automatically go a size up: your foot will slip and the warmth will escape. More in “How to choose winter shoes”.

If the size doesn’t fit

• 30 days to return or exchange international orders, counted from delivery. Items must be unused, unworn and in their original condition and packaging.
• Return postage. For a size exchange or change of mind, return postage is paid by the customer; we refund the product price.
• Free worldwide shipping. Delivery takes 5–10 business days to the EU, the UK, Switzerland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Moldova, and 7–12 to the US, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, Georgia and Montenegro; import duties and VAT by country are explained on our Shipping & duties page.
