Sneakers from our family-owned factory

Babylon has been making shoes at its family-owned factory in Kharkiv since 1997. Every pair is assembled by hand on a last developed for that specific model, and quality is checked at each stage of production. That is why our leather pairs keep their shape and still look good well after their first season.

Sneakers stopped being purely sports shoes a long time ago. People wear them to the office, around the city, when travelling and on long walks. A well-chosen pair works with jeans, straight-cut trousers, a knitted dress or a midi skirt, so it quickly becomes the shoe you reach for most days of the week.

Models and materials

This section brings together several lines, each with its own character:

• Opium. A classic silhouette in genuine leather or suede. Genuine leather lining, an anatomical leather insole and a light EVA and rubber sole. Available in white and in a deep burgundy.
• Pulse. Genuine leather combined with textile and embossed inserts. A breathable mesh lining and a light, springy sole with cushioning. A model for active days and the warmer months.
• Aura. A genuine nubuck upper, genuine leather lining and a foam rubber insole covered with leather. A rubber coating protects the toe from scuffs.
• Infinity. Nubuck with natural fur inside — an option for the cold season, when you would rather stay in sneakers than switch to boots.

How to choose a pair

Start with the season. For spring and summer, choose models with textile and a mesh lining. For the in-between months, leather or suede on a leather lining is the most practical choice. For winter, go for nubuck with fur inside. Then look at the sole: EVA with rubber is lighter, while solid rubber is tougher and grips better on wet pavement.

The fit should be snug but not tight. Your toes need a little room, and the heel should not slip out as you walk. A size chart is available on every product page, so you can compare the length of your foot with the insole before ordering.

Care is simple. Wipe smooth leather with a damp cloth and treat it with cream from time to time. Clean suede and nubuck with a dry brush and protect them with a water-repellent spray before the rainy season.
