Leather slides: easy summer footwear

When it is 30 °C outside, you want footwear that slips on in a second and keeps your feet cool. Slides are exactly that: an open heel and minimal details. Both women and men wear them in the city, on holiday, by the sea or at home in the garden.

This section features leather slides: men’s Hush and Step with an adjustable hook-and-loop strap, and women’s Ibiza. The upper is genuine leather; Hush and Step have an anatomical insole and a light sole, Ibiza has a leather insole and a TPE sole.

How to choose slides

• Upper material. Genuine leather is softer than synthetics, does not rub and keeps its look longer. Plastic slides cost less, but your feet sweat in them on hot days.
• Insole and sole. An anatomical insole supports the foot and reduces strain when walking; for long walks choose it over a flat one.
• Fit. The strap should hold your foot securely without pressing; a hook-and-loop strap lets you adjust it to your instep. Your toes should not reach past the edge of the sole, and your heel should not hang over the back.
• Size. Feet swell slightly in summer, so do not choose a pair that is too snug. Compare your foot length with the size chart on the product page.

Caring for leather slides

Remove dust and sand with a soft brush or a slightly damp cloth. After rain, dry the pair at room temperature, away from direct sun and radiators. Over winter, store the pair in its box so the upper keeps its shape.
